The children
in nursery have been playing with play-dough over the last couple weeks. They
have been adding glitter and sparkle to make it look appealing. Most of the
children’s favourite activity is playing with the play-dough. Their play-dough
is home-made so if you were wondering how to make it, here it is:
Ingredients
& Equipment
·
225g
(8oz) plain flour,
·
100g
(4oz) salt,
·
30ml
(2tbsp) cream of tartar,
·
15ml
(1 tbsp) vegetable oil,
·
225ml
(8fl) water,
·
A
few drops of food colouring,
·
A
saucepan.
Mix all the
ingredients (EXCEPT THE FOOD COLOURING) into a smooth paste. Cook in the
saucepan slowly over a low heat, stirring occasionally, until the dough comes
away from the pan and makes a smooth ball. Remove, and when cool, add a few
drops of food colouring, then knead (if you want you can also add glitter!).
This dough
should last for a month or two when stored in an air-tight container or a
fridge.
You can also
try to add extra ingredients such as cornflower or lentils. Write in the
comment section what you tried!
